Hey! I'm Johannes van der Merwe, a software engineer whose journey started in South Africa on a Windows 95 machine. Those early days of taking things apart and exploring how systems fit together laid the foundation for how I build software today.
Growing up in a technology-driven environment gave me unique exposure to computing. Between countless OS reinstalls and diving deep into system configurations, I grew a natural curiosity for technology that still drives me today.
These days I'm based in Cape Town, South Africa, channeling that same curiosity into building solutions for the clients of WebIT a Strategic Innovation Partner in Amsterdam. We work at the intersection of innovation and responsibility, combining new technology with careful consideration of privacy, security, and how it grows businesses and society.
